CALL FOR PAPERS — OPEN FROM TODAY

The First International Conference Mineralia Arcana (Senigallia, 20–21–22 November 2026) invites scholars to explore the dialogue between mineral matter, archaic mythologies, symbolic iconographies, and the narrative traditions that traverse global cultural history.

Stones, metals, and crystals — with their structures, metamorphoses, and inner luminosities — have generated over time cosmologies, religious imaginaries, archetypal figures, and literary motifs.

The Major Arcana of the Tarot are here understood as complex cultural objects, situated at the crossroads of symbolic mineralogy, history of religions, analytical psychology, iconography, and narrative traditions.

The conference aims to investigate how matter becomes myth, how myth transforms into image, and how image resonates within literature, cultural memory, and the forms of imagination.

Thematic Areas

• Cultural Mineralogy — stones and metals as narrative elements in ancient cosmologies.

• Mythologies of Matter — the Earth as a mythic archive: fractures, metamorphoses, solidifications.

• Jungian Archetypes — the Arcana as images of the collective unconscious.

• Tarot Iconography — figurative genealogies, symbols, stratifications.

• Symbolic Narratives — myth, literature, epic, poetry, and imaginaries linked to mineral matter.

• Geology and Myth — mineral landscapes as foundational mythic settings.

• Materiality and Imagination — matter as a generator of narrative and symbolic forms.
